MIDWEEK MUSINGS – Nov 9, 2021 – John Knox

Thank you, thank you for your participation in the workshop on Sunday with Craig Howard. Some really good comments and observations were made. I am working on transcribing all the post-its, so the Session will have a copy of everything. At the Session meeting we will be working on next steps; I want to capture/ build on the momentum. I hope we will set up some task forces to deal with things such as options for the building, ways to reach out to our community, etc. So, if you get a call to participate, say “Yes!”

And thank you for your good response to this year’s stewardship campaign. As I said on Sunday, we have received more pledges than last year, and I think our proposed budget is well within reach. If you have not yet sent yours in, please do so, or talk with Pearl Rogers, so we will know your intentions. I would remind you that you can set up an automatic withdrawal through the Presbyterian Foundation or participate in online giving through the Foundation. I intend to set up my contribution that way.

We still need some helpers for the Sunday media team. You know how important our outreach through the online worship is, so help make sure we can continue this ministry. Talk with me, or Sharon Wall, Sue Saum, or Tommy Siam.

What can we do to reach out to our community/ children for Advent/ Christmas? I’m open to ideas. Our Trunk or Treat was a big success. Let’s move on!

The office will be closed on Thursday for Veterans Day observance. Floyd Brown will be leading us in that observance at church next Sunday. Kim will be out of the office on Friday. I remind you that newsletter articles will be due to Kim by next week.

I hope you are adjusting to the time change – it gets dark really early, doesn’t it? Enjoy the fall days and the colorful leaves as you are able. God paints for us a beautiful world!

Grace and peace, Pastor Carol
