MIDWEEK MUSINGS – Jan 11, 2022 – John Knox

Friends,

I am in the midst of all the paperwork that has to happen at the conclusion/beginning of the year – even for churches. As most of you know the Book of Order (our constitution) requires the congregation meet annually to hear reports on the previous year, etc. Most churches meet twice, the other meeting in the fall to elect new officers. Even though the Session is responsible for establishing and approving the budget, we have to present it to you so you, the congregation, are fully informed. That meeting will be Jan 30, the last Sunday in January, following worship. I am hoping the surge in virus cases will have eased by then so more of you will be comfortable being present in person.

I know you are feeling discouraged to still be caught up in this pandemic. I am right there with you! I had such high hopes when the vaccine came out the beginning of last year that by now, we would be way past this. But too many people remain unvaccinated, and the virus continues to adapt and mutate. We can only hang on and be cautious with our own behavior, believing that there will come a time when our lives can once again include meeting in person – and hugs!

In the meantime, I encourage you to use our live-streaming for worship, stay in touch with one another, take care of yourselves – and pray!

Grace and peace, Pastor Carol
