MIDWEEK MUSINGS – February 1, 2022 – John Knox
Stephen Pape, our custodian, called last evening to tell me that he and Jennifer both tested positive for Covid yesterday. Both are vaccinated, but they developed mild symptoms on Sunday, so were tested. They will have to isolate, of course, and we hope symptoms will remain mild. Please include them in your prayers. I’ll keep you posted.
There will be a Zoom call Wednesday, Feb 2, at 6:30pm, for a final discussion of the Sailboat Church book. I hope all of you who are interested will join in. Watch for the link from Tommy.
The forecast for tomorrow and Thursday sounds as if we are going to get a strong hit of winter. I hope you have prepared to hunker down, stay inside and warm. I’m planning to make a grocery store run and fill my car gas tank today 😊
Our Presbytery will meet on Thursday via Zoom. The new Presbytery Leader Ryan Landino will be installed. Any of you who want to join in are welcome. The Zoom link may be found in the Tuesday newsletter or on the Presbytery wed site. The meeting starts at 9:00am.
As a reminder – I am taking a week of study leave beginning next week, Feb 7-14. For worship on Feb 13, you will hear a sermon by Rev Dale Jackson, Presbytery Leader of Heartland Presbytery. This is one of the series of sermons made available through the Synod to be used by local congregations as needed and/or wished. While I am away, please contact Kim in the office or one of the elders if you need assistance. I will be back in the office on Tuesday, Feb 15.
Grace and peace, Pastor Carol
