Because we believe that humankind was created in the image
of God, to reflect God's love, mercy, and care,
because we are disciples of Jesus Christ
called to love and care for one another,
because, following in Jesus' example, we believe we have a
special call to care for and protect the youth and
children of our community,
because we know that underage drinking places the youth of
our church and community at increased rick of injury,
assault, addiction, and death,
we, the members and friends of John Knox Presbyterian Church, will neither
condone nor encourage, by word or deed, the practice of underage drinking.
We will provide a clear and consistent witness to Christ's call to a disciplined
and holy life, in keeping with the laws of our community and in obedience to
God's will, for our youth and our whole congregation.
