Spiritual Growth Ministry Teams


Adult Ministry Team:
Providing meaningful experiences in which to help adults grow as disciples of Jesus.

Adult Ministry nurtures spiritual growth through Bible studies, family studies, and study groups for men and women on Sunday morning and during the week. We provide a nurturing environment for members and friends to expand their knowledge of scripture, identify their spiritual gifts, and grow in their faith.


Children's Ministry Team:
Providing meaningful experiences in which to help children grow as disciples of Jesus.

The Childrens's Ministry includes the planning and staffing of programs for children age pre-school through 5th grade. These include Sunday School, VBS, Friday Movie Nights, Family Fun Nights, special events such as our Spring Celebration and Fall Festival, and four community outreach projects. We also provide child care for various church events.


Youth and Young Adults Team:

Youth Ministry focuses on the spiritual growth, Christian education, and nurturing of faith for youth grades 6 - 12 and college age adults. Through mission, service, fellowship, education, and worship, we provide experiences for students to grow as disciples of Jesus. Our weekly Youth Connection Fellowship, mission trips, retreats, lock-ins, participation in worship, and a new program for college students are all ways we fulfill this ministry.

Our Youth are divided into 3 groups.
  • Faith Explorers are children in 6th Grade through 7th Grade
    Confirmation are children in 8th Grade
    Youth Connection are children in 9th Grade through 12th Grade
  • Here at John Knox, we loosely consider Young Adults to be anyone in their 20's and 30's. Folks in the age range usually share some or all of these experiences:

    First career
    Young children
    Early years of marriage
    Completing college or graduate school
    Dating and/or engagement

    So, it only makes sense that our young adult groups and gatherings will often focus on one or more of these common experiences.

    Can folks in their 40's (or even older) share these experiences? Of course! All are welcome when we meet.


Traditional Worship Team:
We provide weekly traditional worship for the congregation. This includes music for choir, women's ensemble, bell choir, and children's group, as well as supplies such as candles, communion supplies, seasonal worship items, and children's worship bulletins.

Contemporary Worship Team:
We provide contemporary worship each week, trusting in God's Spirit to help us create diverse experiences and opportunities for all to encounter God. This includes the need for updating and maintaining music and audio equipment.
