P.W.J.K.
Presbyterian Women of John Knox

The purpose of Presbyterian Women:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

TO NURTURE OUR FAITH THROUGH PRAYER AND BIBLE STUDY:

TO SUPPORT THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH WORLD WIDE:

TO WORK FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE:

TO BUILD AN INCLUSIVE, CARING COMMUNITY OF WOMEN THAT STRENGTHENS THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (USA) AND WITNESSES TO THE PROMISE OF GOD'S KINGDOM:

All women of John Knox Presbyterian Church are counted as members of the Womens Association (PWJK).

We choose our leadership, organize programs, raise funds, and administer our own budget. Fund raisers this past were: The Spring Dinner and Style Show, Annual Craft Fair and Bake Sale, and Meals on Wheels Appreciation Luncheon.

Contributions from these events are made twice a year. Donations were made to the Deacons Fund, Mortgage Fund, Youth Fellowship, Northside Team Ministry, Florissant T.E.A.M. , Matthew 25 Fund, Farmington Childrens Home and the Kitchen Flue Fund.

We support Missions worldwide through Thank Offering, Birthday Offering, Fellowship of the Least Coin, Blanket Sunday, and Sewing Christmas Stockings for B.R.O., as well as other sewing projects as requested.

A prayer chain is maintained for the congregation. In case of illness or death we provide food and services for the family.

We also provide refreshments for special events in the life of the church.
