This ministry was instituted by the deacons as a way for the congregation to sacrificially give to those in need. On the final Sunday of each month, no donuts are purchased. The free will offering normally used to offset the cost of the donuts is instead used to purchase the designated object of the month (usually an animal or group of animals). We purchase the objects from Heifer Project International They distribute the animals where they are needed and hopefully create a living for a family while helping their entire community. |
